Well renowned for its high levels of vitamin C and sweet fresh taste, this citrus fruit is most often used to produce juice or simply eaten as a fresh snack.

This tropical product accounts for the most widely cultivated tree in the world with production being calculated to be around 68 million metric tons.

The top five producers are Brazil, the United States (Florida and California), China, India, and Mexico, with Brazil producing more than twice as much as the second producer.
